Scott M. Dimond, Esq. (L) and Adam J. Stolz, Esq. (R) of Homer Bonner Jacobs Ortiz & Dimond, P.A.
MIAMI, FL — Homer Bonner Jacobs Ortiz & Dimond, P.A. announced today that prominent Miami litigator and trial attorney Scott M. Dimond and senior associate Adam J. Stolz have joined the firm, effective immediately. In recognition of Dimond’s stature in the South Florida legal community and the significance of this addition, the firm has added Dimond’s name to its masthead, now operating as Homer Bonner Jacobs Ortiz & Dimond, P.A.
Dimond brings more than three decades of trial and litigation experience to the firm and boasts a wealth of connections and involvement in the local legal community. A lifelong Miamian and nationally recognized advocate, he has built an exceptional track record in complex commercial litigation, securities arbitration, and receivership matters. Since 2021, he has obtained two eight- figure jury verdicts in Miami-Dade’s Complex Business Division. He has been ranked Band 2 by Chambers USA, listed among Florida’s Top 100 Lawyers by Super Lawyers, and named to Florida Trend’s Legal Elite every year since 2006.
“Scott Dimond is exactly the kind of lawyer and leader who elevates an entire firm,” said José A. Ortiz of Homer Bonner Jacobs Ortiz & Dimond, P.A. Attorney Kevin P. Jacobs added: “I’ve known Scott for more than twenty years — as opposing counsel, as co-counsel, as fellow members and successive chairs of the Southern District’s Local Rules Committee, and as a friend. He is one of the finest lawyers in this market, and his dedication and service to the bench and bar are unmatched. Having Scott as a partner strengthens something we’ve always valued at our firm: the twin commitments of doing excellent work for clients and giving back to the legal community.”
“I’ve long admired the firm as a premier litigation boutique in South Florida and look forward to expanding my practice with their team and
infrastructure,” said Dimond. “The firm’s commitment to sophisticated, high-stakes advocacy and its deep bench of talented attorneys make it the ideal home for this next chapter. I look forward to continuing to serve our clients and the South Florida legal community from this platform.”
Joining Dimond is Adam J. Stolz, a former federal judicial law clerk and versatile litigator who joins Homer Bonner Jacobs Ortiz & Dimond as a senior associate. Stolz focuses on complex business litigation for both plaintiffs and defendants, including high-stakes contractual disputes, fraud and misrepresentation claims, banking and securities litigation, healthcare litigation, employment disputes, and class actions.
Stolz is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Law, magna cum laude, where he served on the Executive Board of the University of Miami Law Review and as a member of the Moot Court Board. He clerked for the Honorable Paul C. Huck in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Union College. He is active in the community as a moot court coach at Miami Law and as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for the National Alliance on Mental Illness: Miami-Dade Chapter.
“I’m thrilled to join this firm alongside Scott and to continue building on the successful work we’ve done together,” said Stolz. “Homer Bonner Jacobs Ortiz & Dimond has a sterling reputation in the community for serious, complex litigation, and I’m excited about what we’ll be able to accomplish for our clients here.”
Dimond previously served as a founding partner of Dimond Kaplan & Rothstein, P.A. from 2003 to 2026, and before that practiced at Hanzman & Criden, P.A. and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Virginia and earned his law degree with honors from Columbia Law School. He has chaired the Southern District of Florida Local Rules Committee since 2014 and has chaired The Florida Bar’s Rules of Civil Procedure Committee, the Rules of Judicial Administration Committee, and The Eleventh Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission.
